Today (or tomorrow) is the day you begin your novel! Here’s how:

1. Create your novel on our site. Don’t know the title or anything about it yet? That’s okay! Just fill in “To Be Determined” and you can edit it any time during the month.

2. Start writing. You do this on your computer or in a notebook. Anywhere is good with us, as long as you keep your work backed up. (Please note: We don’t store any of your manuscript on our website.)

3. Update your word count. You do that via the menu at the top of our site, where it says “0 words so far”—or on mobile and tablet, via this little guy: . You can update (with your current total word count) as often as you like.
